I think that a misconception has spread on the "modularity" of environments. All the speaking of grid and snapping has got people thinkg that every module should be a square or of similar shape to move on the XYZ axes and be done with it like it was some sort of board game. And even more people think that this has to be…
Gotta gently disagree with OP. I'm young and even within my span of experience there have been huge improvements in software, tools, and techniques. When one talks about how retopology is still such a burden, or UVs are still such a chore... I myself know there are better ways to do these things today than just ten years…
I don't think there is a way though, since the mesh is in 3d space (XYZ coord) and UV is on 2d space (UV coord, if we ignored the W coord), max wouldn't know how to interpret the additional axis.
The original T pose was done mostly for modeling convenience, as most everything lines up with XYZ standard grid. The other poses have come about primarily to help with animation weighting and deformation. Any deforming body will have some level of stress or compression through the muscles and skin and clothing etc, to…
No. This makes no sense because you're telling him this for the wrong reasons. The problem is not that he's using unique textures - it's that his texturing skills aren't good enough to get the most out of those unique textures. Sure, he could mirror some things here and there and arrange his islands better, so his UVing…
Yeah, I thought so, they guy making the videos left his dream job to make these videos so good luck to him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xy89UmsSj7I
When I try to center the pivots, the XYZ are all grey and cannot be edited. I have searched for days in google how to fix that, but I found nothing. Thank you for the answers, I will try these things tommorow.
thanks again Xyrtae another update, fixed the window issue, tweaked a few minor settings and did some basic photoshop post production, its come along quite fast in the last day or so.
