Yes your board supports up to 64GB of DDR4 3200. Though you'll want to upgrade to a new motherboard either way if you plan on upgrading your CPU (5900X or 5950X would be my recommendation, both of which have come down a lot in price lately). -

I have a 5950x in one system and a 10900k in another. Unless I am building code, running some sort of SIM or a shader build I do not use all the cores on either. 5800/5900x and a 3070/3080 with 32gb (leaving space for 32 more) would be a fairly good place to be. The extra cores in my 5950x are of dubious real world benefit and outside of processing genuinely huge datasets I rarely go past 32gb of ram usage. I'd suggest that the money is better spent elsewhere -

2k is ambitious for a workstation. Mine was closer to 4k and doesn't come close to my desktop that was 1k less (10900k Vs 5950x) At that price I would probably aim for something gamey with a 3070.
