very much depends on what kinda workflow your using, and how you want to work. For the best visuals i would use Unreal Engine 4 or Cry Engine. -

Get at least a 860M or 960M, anything else isn't really with it if you are planning on using a modern game engine like UE4, Cry Engine, or Unity with the settings cranked up. -

neutron engine uses http://www.mpi-inf.mpg.de/~ritschel/SSDO/ SSDO is mentioned in the cry paper, but they discuss using it only for far objects or close details...
