Armando What Butt was saying is essentially a common trick to "edge" out your edging in normal maps, similar to how you do it for corners and whatnot. I agree that it is difficult to distinguish between different material types atm. A good deal of your differentiation will come from spec power changes, so adding that soon would be a good idea. The mount rail, barrel, and bolt lever look pretty good, but most of the rest of the gun is waay too high spec/spread out spec.… -

I think it is really important to remember that the reflectance is just determining the reflective properties of the material. You shouldn't be using it control cavities and AO. Your cavity and AO maps will tone down the spec just fine if you let them. Reflectance should be a flat color unless there is some sort of change… -

Metallness and Specular are different workflow, but they're not real different, actually they being use to calculate the same thing, which is specular value. yes. Grumble grumble. turn you spec map into a mask rather than bitmap put the spec map in one slot, and the diffuse alpha in te other you can reuse the diffuse texture, just use the alpha component -

Quick thought - why not just overlay the opacity map texture (set to Multiply mode) on to the spec map in Photoshop, and just use that as a spec map? It's essentially doing the same thing as a Mask material, but without all the material faff. -

Well, I guess your best bet would be an actual 'database' : the mysql database holds all the info about the images and php code (executed from the html page) process the queries and fetch the information in the lists. I think it can even create the thumbnails on the fly... Each image has it's own unique ID, but is stored…
