Very well done! Really glad they did this to introduce people to Tom Lasky. Just having his character show up in Halo 4 would not have had as much impact without seeing his interactions with chef in this series. Really hope they get the funding to keep making a series in the vain of this!
[SKETCHFAB]f6f5bd073d3841089062408e887c49f0[/SKETCHFAB] Thanks for the critics! Actually, that's probably been one of my biggest setbacks is not interacting with the art community, which has been available this entire time. I see what you mean about the gun and missing fundamentals. Marmoset and the profile are things I…
I had already planned on completing an interactive ship interior in UDK within this year. I think that'll probably be my starting point for this. If I can complete that to my satisfaction then I'll continue onward. I'll be posting about that, and I expect you all here on polycount to hold me to it.
@ stiris....I only use O2 to sort out alpha cards. The rest of the stuff I use 3d studio max. As for animation deals you use dummy nodes to do that. I am at Bohemia Interactive. I can help with your questions if need be. There are stories that go a long with the tools.
Actually if you use a trigger that has aim to interact it will be activated before another trigger. I used this to create a simple kismet setup with a drawer and takes out a box. I also created a pretty in depth tutorial if any new users want to try something like this. http://ianowen.net/#tutorials
This looks great so far! The only note I have is maybe to double check how the fat around the neck interacts with the sternocleidomastoid. Maybe double check the back too to see how a fat person's skin looks over the general anatomical muscles on the back. But other wise this is a solid character!
Normally this is fixed in Maya 2012. If you're using an older version of Maya, I recommend this plugin which copies 3dsmax's inset behaviour, it's also nice because it's fully interactive, like in Max: http://www.creativecrash.com/maya/downloads/scripts-plugins/modeling/poly-tools/c/maya-inset-tool
I think you might have me mistaken for that. :| Yeah I think I will add some more interaction within the claw machine, as He does kind of look dead aha. I see what you mean, I'll definetly change the camera at the end. Thanks for the help! :D
"High end cutscenes" are things that typically deterred me from playing games. Most AAA games find the need to turn every game into an interactive movie and it baffles me. There needs to be more games like D:OS, Dark Souls, and Half-Life where you experience the story via gameplay.
Nice progression so far, it's looking good! It's looking like people are actually using/interacting with the environment, which is great. I think if you made the books more messed up and maybe the file cabinet doors weren't all closed tight it would pushed the "lived in feel" even further.
