I think your main issue here is that you are not looking at references closely enough. Search up Japanese garden references on Flickr, google and etc. It will help you with the layout, and how you place/make your assets. Next, look up more reference for each one of your elements. [WIP] Trying to learn how to sculpt faces
PLEASE HELP/leave crits. I've watched a few zbrush videos on drawing and the skull sculpting skulls. I figure getting the skull right would be much better than trying to just scuplt a face without a good foundation. yes, camera position wont matter if you do it with a round edge shader. everything will "just work". you could swap in and out any model and using that shader it will all smooth together. that said, the picture you provided seems to be of plastic vacuum forming which isnt going to look the same as a shader smoothing over… -

I'd learn how to either measure with an accurate to real life scale "human anatomy model", or learn how to work in real measurements, in the end you can "translate it after the fact", to whatever requirements are expected for the projects.
