I don't think its necessary to list what High School you went to in your Resume, and that you're Food Safe...plus you might want to revise the look of your website, and size of your demo reel. You list Adobe After Effects in your known software, yet your demo reel is around 80mb as a quicktime file, which makes me assume…
rofl welcome to polycount. everyone comes here for masochistic reasons. you make art, get your be-hymen torn up and grow thicker skin. Art is personally originality. The test is made to see if you can hit a spec. Most people do this and loose that spark in the art, and we get flooded with art tests. It's a boring, very…
I'm not saying the masks themselves cause data issues a few hundred gray scale masks wouldn't impact the PSD's size that much. But what they are masking out is still stored in the PSD, even if it extends past the canvas cut off lines. Example: http://www.vigville.com/forum_images/ExsevisExcess.jpg If I'm only going to use…
I was gonna say Arroway as well. I've tried a few before and their quality is just stellar. Too much even, they give you these 8000x8000 lossless PNG's, it's not even suited for realtime in such a form. Things like Total Textures don't come close
thx Japhir! ok well, heres a near final. maybe I should push it further but Ill have to let the model rest for a while. (and myself in the same occasion) a turnaround: (800 kb) http://www.mediafire.com/?3gzttbhtjex I hope you like it.
Thanks for the comments guys. Hearing from the community will really help me keep pushing forward when I'm not inspired or getting frustrated. SaboR1996 & Chase: Thanks, as per Axios' suggestion I think I will save the vertex painting for rocks or tileable textures further down the road. I gotta get the basics down first.…
I haven't used those, but I have two external LaCie Quadras connected via an eSATA card, and they work great. eSATA is very fast. http://www.lacie.com/us/products/product.htm?pid=11156 To give you an idea of the difference, here's from their specs page... eSATA: up to 3Gbits/s (300MB/s) FireWire 800: up to 800Mbits/s…
Yeah, doing depth from normal map is very wrong. As of laser scanners they can't do so detailed mesh Photoscan can. Not even close. My recent Photoscan model was around 800 mil polys per a few meters of a surface. In my experience photogrammetry based materials works so-so with Substance Designer/Painter. Both softs are…
