I am sorry I do not have a front or side view. Though the artist that drew the concept art did try to model it (he never finished) but you can see a front view in the background http://dimage.f7c-network.com/dimage/Alien-Hybrid-Nanosuit,83705,original.jpeg
Less of a critique and more of a commentary but adding to what Eric has already said: If visual accuracy is important for realism then replicating the appropriate grain orientation of each component is important because (in the real world) it effects the dimensional behavior and strength of solid lumber. In contrast to…
You're not the first person I've had this conversation with, nor the first to make these suggestions ;) These aren't good approaches and I'll explain why; Shape recognition is important in almost any game - it's why character artists spend so long concentrating on the silhouettes of various characters. In a real time…
rooster: Actually I would lump books in with games as well as movies and music. They are all 'experiences' rather than physical things that you put to specific uses. It's really not that hard to make the logical leap here. It's all content and content should be treated differently than physical products. Just because…
[ QUOTE ] Maybe it's just me but I have a personal hate for games that have no brains in the interaction departemnt. If I hack something, I want to see that something affected. I also made some paper templates for the bracers so I can start on those once I finish the hands. I feel it's really starting to come together at this point! The deadline is also…
How much time do you spend networking, going to meetups and contributing to online communities? that is another essential part of the equation. The chances of you having someone recommend you for a position (this is like a golden ticket) go way up the more value you provide to others. I would look on meetup.com and start…
Starting from concept art, this is my workflow usually: 1. Blockout mesh to test in game to make sure nothing unexpected will arise from the asset - this can be very quick, as long as the proportions are correct. Just need to test stuff like player collision (eg. if the player has to walk through / around / inside the…
Hello there! I have been in this forum for some time but I have never published anything. I hope you can help me. I am trying to prepare a good portfolio for a 3D props/environment artist position. If you don't mind, I'll say a bit about my career till now. I studied an engineering in product design to later get into an…
