I also almost exclusively use screen mode when working in Max. I've been looking for a tweak equivalent in the past but now find myself moving mostly verts, edges a bit less, and polies even less. So I swith to screen mode, and hide the gizmo. To avoid the move to go crazily when the gizmo is off you need to click one the…
OK, got it to paint. For some reason Texture 3 (the multiplied lightmap) is being flipped on its V axis. Fixed this by adding texscale (1,-1,1); to the MTL, then pressing Reset Materials. Nice feature. Is there a hotkey to toggle fullscreen? Mouse is stuck within the window (for good reason I see). Maybe a hotkey to toggle…
So far the top contenders are the following: Lenovo Thinkpad X201t http://shopap.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/auweb/LenovoPortal/en_AU/catalog.workflow:category.details?current-catalog-id=3634951826AE4D3881BFFF1AC5FCD957¤t-category-id=5F3D323E86B74590ADD714AAD4CB5F99 Fujitsu LifeBook T900…
Great scene, and some good advice in here. I'd love to see more of that pipework, it has by far the most character in your scene. I was tempted to say to tone down the green on it, but i think if you threw it around the rest of the area it would harmonize itself. You should also rotate the handles a bit so they're not all…
Thats cool... I didn't realise any other polycounters lived that near me... there's Soul Reaper in Basingstoke, Dr X and Sundance are in Oxford, Axel is Reading way, Frankie and Rolf are in London, but I never realised there was another 'counter in Bucks BTW Kreator are an awesome German thrash metal band \m/
I think UDK requires the mirror axis to be straight up and down only. Also your light is pretty much dead on, which minimizes mirror artifacts. The Mesh Editor view look like it has artifacts too. What happens when you move the light so it's halfway between the front and the side?
You can kill some of the loops going around his stomach. its quite dense. Also the center of his chest down to his belly button is unneccasirly complicated. I can see you are trying to funnel the polys from his neck down into the torso. but you can do that all in the neck. also instead of funneling them together in the…
KJ: Thanks for the cool ideas. I've been at a little bit of a road block when it comes to the scale of the trim. I am going to toy around with the idea to actually sink the player a little farther down into the ground and have another small set of trims that i will also use between the pillars and the BSP. For the floor, i…
Things that show up in yellow in the modifier stack, are activated. As long as its yellow you can click the move gizmo in the viewport and move the mirror plane where you want. You can do the same thing to most modifier gizmos like UnwrapUVW, bend, twist ect... It centers the mirror plane at the objects axis. You can…
yeah. basically translating a selection ' forward ' or ' back ' in screenSpace. and scaling relative to the screen ( as though the window was your static manipulator axis )
