1- I've gotten pretty good low poly AO results with XNormal. Avoid using the "Simple AO" tool in the Utilities and simply plug in the low poly mesh for both the high res and low res and bake like normal. I have used Faogen in the past as well, it worked pretty nicely. It has built-in options for hemispherical occluders so… -

I hate the soft I'v been spending most of my time in for decade already . It's Substance Designer. It's rather love/hate relation actually and I still couldn't find any alternative . It's non destructive everything and super cool indeed in this regard but gosh wouldn't they do every node most inconvenient way ever… -

Hi :) I think the lighting can be improved, try to make it brighter (even if it's an interior, low lit scene). I see a gereral diffuse light but not clear light source influencing the scene, nor strong shadows. The final image should be well exposed. Try to get a good result in render directly, then tweak a little in PS.… -

Your materials on the metal/wood feel very nice, but the fabric on the chairs/sofas feels strange - like it's covered in large wrinkles instead of smaller wrinkles in the corners, like I'd expect. Do you have a reference you're using for that? What type of fabric is it intended to be? -

I think you're also going to have to buy a sofa and a large room for a screen that big :D I have a friend who used to use a stupidly big monitor in a closet sized room. But damn 16 GB, does it get much better than that. -

Finally had some time to work on this scene! I have been making some assets and stuff that can go in the scene such as sofa and chair. Another thing I updated is the floor, I have changed it to have much more wrinkles and I plan to add a few different layers. -

The chair or the sofa? The chair is form this ref: EDIT: Just got some in-person crits, I see the differences between my chair and the ref :) If I get the time tonight I'll make some adjustments and see how it looks with a proper normal map instead of smoothing & normals trickery -

Unwrapping A Couch
Any tips or techniques anyone can share about how to unwrap this Sofa? I did a search and saw a thread that showed kind of what I should do, but unfortunately I went from high poly to low poly and I can't think of an efficient way to get rid of the bumps on the back of the couch. :( The High Poly
