Re: UDK normal map vs lighting
Do the normal maps in UDK assets seem to be working in the level? One thing is that you may have got into the unlit mode by mistake. You can change the render mode with the buttons on the bar above the viewport. It should be lit(alt+4). EDIT: This shouldn't be the case when you play as it should render in lit mode already. -

my comment would be dont use wix, makes it slow, difficult to link or saves images from it and causes it to break if the person viewing it has noScript installed. Not to mention it breaks the back button so is hard to navigate. For portfolios stay simple, some basic HTML a list of images and some contact details is all you… -

thanks, cool you like it! also, the first time you press either button, it will lock focus and whitebalance. so the first capture should be on an area with medium to high light. it will obvously work better outdoors, when you have greater distance to things, since small movements of the phone wont have that great affect on… -

have you baked this in modo as well? Am I spotting the round edges feature around the intersections between buttons and body? I also feel like the plastic material seems a bit too soft. It should be some harder plastic, less rubber like. So higher gloss and smaller noise size should help. -

I learned Maya on mac prior to them switching the processors to intel. It was fine. It probably is still fine. All that I needed was a three button usb mouse and all was good. As previously stated, maya, the adobe suite of products, zbrush, all work on macs. It all depends on what programs you are deciding to learn or use. -

this is what transpose master is for. go to zplugin-transpose master. hit the tposemesh button(it will create a temp tool with all subtools merged), rotate the model, then hit tposesubT(it will reconstruct your original tool with subtools). all subtools need unique names for it to work. i'm sure there are some youtube… -

Really liking this one! The lower barrel thing's features are nice and chunky, not too busy. Curious to see how those cables end up looking too, I had some buttons in that same area for my entry and the in-game angle can be a little unflattering as the previous poster mentioned. Ha yea, I got mine last night (the 24hd as well), struggling for space! Do you use a keyboard whilst say, sculpting? Or have you managed to programme enough of the buttons to do without? First impressions is that it's a quality bit of kit, but I've only played on it for an hour or so. Going to put the time in this weekend…
