Hey man, I like the way it is now more than the more intense idea. I think this suggests a rest moment for your character which is in line with the fact that you are in a menu i.e. not in live play. I hope that makes sense. There is a dissonance between the menu text (which is military like and in theme) and the sliders…
Finished this little piece to welcome people to my 3D art newsletter : ) Wanted to do something like this for a long time! If you're interested, here is the most recent newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/221962d1b73c/cozy-cabin-3d (subscribe button at top left) Besides my 3D art I also include gameart tips/ resources always :)
Just finished the game and its great experience! The black screen at the end had me waiting awhile and pressing a bunch of buttons. I found out that you can quick save, so I did just that and returned later. Once I loaded up the quick save again....it was pretty interesting, I wonder if it was done intentionally?
Assuming you have you model in zbrush with its UVs and are in edit mode, first import the texture in the texture palette (there's a button there to flip it vertically in case you need to). This will load the texture into zbrush. To apply it to the model/tool, under the Tools palette there is a Texture Map subpalette. Just…
Also made a process gif using some of the 30ish .vtf's... A lot of thought went into all the little bits! Unfortunately they won't be visible in-game but might as well make them all fit the narrative! Got stream control buttons and knobs, magazine safety latch, various dials and panels for different readings and ofcourse…
You think he would have some Portal-esqe big red "sentience detected" button to alert the holw freaking company that they just created a life form. Instead... "holy shit this andriod is crying and pleading for her life... I've never seen that before. Oh well, i'll box her up with the rest" looks cool tho
I would highlight somehow arts which stick to company's style (to which you're sending your portfolio) and the rest of your art put in some less visible place. Second page or under "load more" button. During my interview I've noticed how they weren't interested of my personal projects or cg not related with games.
I used to: Try and do as much with my normal map as possible. Even when it was probably better to model that hole, or those buttons. Now I: Stopped being so damn stingy with my polys. If it helps the silhouette, and doesn't take an unnecessary amount of time to model in, I should model it. The asset will turn out much…
The problem I think you're having is that Ctrl+W also is set to a global max hotkey for Zoom Region Mode. You can either remove it from Zoom Region Mode or turn on Keyboard Shortcut Override which will override the global shortcuts with the sub-menu shortcuts. Its the button in the toolbar that looks like a up arrow key.
Select object > right click > object proporties > "backface cull" Be careful adding modifiers to the stack. Dont go crazy on it. To fix it without a modifier select object in editable poly or mesh modes, select "face" subselection on the tool panel on the right and there will be a "flip" button. Select all the faces that…
