Talking with a colleague here, an animator, he looks for a solid understanding of the 12 Disney principles of animation, ability to get inside the character's head, ability to convey emotion and tell story (not just moving across the screen), focus on character work (don't show bouncing ball anims).
hehe. But actually there is one animation studio for 2D in the North, which made art for Disney. There is also a mobile games studio there run by a German dude. There may be more. Guy Delisle describes in his highly enjoyable comic "Pyongyang" how he worked with North Korean artists.
As always your work looks great! Clean polys and the colors have a great pastel painted feel to them but its subtle. Great job overall I agree be great to see Lilo and Stitch in the scene but if not be great to see you tackle another Disney classic scene.
Disney did a lot of this, the small grey statues are called Maquettes, and if they were used for characters the point was to create a single reference for the character that was tangible in it's scale and 3d qualities. Of course it was more prominent when the movies were mostly 2d and you got a specialist sculptor to do it.
Most 2D animation gets outsourced to Asia. The remaining 2D professions I see is either for flash cartoons or small gigs like indie games. Disney also shut down their hand drawn studio. So there goes any 2D movies from Hollywood.

Hello, our project in school was to create an figure of an movie called Blade. The task was to create the character into Disney Infinity style. (Lowpoly) This is my first character I ever made. I would appreciate your feedback about my work. https://sketchfab.com/models/d93b1855c1d74598849b1e69fa7f9dfc Thank you! :)
That looks sweet! I can't wait to see it. The narnia series was one of my favorite as a kid. I wonder if disney is going to do the rest of the series. They probably will depending on how well this one does, so go see it everyone! Just go to a late showing to avoid the children.
Take a look at the silhouette of the animations and see if it's still readable then. I think you'll find that a lot of the poses aren't clear because the big boots and skirt are blending in to each other a lot. some for the arms and torso.…
