Hm. So if I was to wander along to the comic store with $50 or so, what would I be wanting to lay my money on? The only graphic novels I've ever really gotten a hold of are a couple of issues of Sin City that I picked up after the movie and some really horrible comics that my dad bought me for a long car trip when I was…
I'm confused what you mean by the yellow/green, do you mean like at the tips of the horse? I think that only happens in areas that are super thin, which stones would not be. Toned down the reflective light so there's less glare, and grabbed more angles.
Some more environment WIP stuff. Still just geting some color applied to all the grayscale textures I've already done and trying to balance the values/hues with some light tests. I'm not sure I'm feeling the warm tones for all the stone so I think I'll play around with making it cooler once I finish this pass on the…
Hey guys, I'm working on a stone golem for a personal project. I'm looking for any sort of comments or critique on him, especially in the area of texturing. Right now, I think I'm done sculpting him, and I have a base texture painted on. As far as him being stone and symmetric, I wanted him to be have been carved stone…

For example the stone wall at the temple, I am planing to use same diffuse seamless texture to make a (seamless model) and (no seamless model - with nudged edges). But problem comes, when…
I'm fully expecting the answer to this will be "that's not possible". I've got an effect I'm working on at the moment, building off a tutorial for creating a money style effect using multiple layers. The guilloche patterns are used as mask selection image that's been copied once for each time the patterns will be applied.…
Your progress in this thread is really something. You should be proud. Regarding your stone tile piece I think you should use a cooler (as in the opposite of warm) colour scheme just to break away from the orange/yellow tone that you've been using on your wood.
how do you find being a games artist has affected your waistline? Since I started doing games art back in about 1995/6 I have put on about 6 stones and i feel that this is because I spent so much time sitting down. I really never had a problem with my weight before that. But anyway I have lost early 4 stones in the last 3…
