The orthos actually took quite a bit of time, matching all the details @ front & side views. I should have just done blockouts in Maya and sketched over them. I believe they took about 16 hours. If I did a blockout in Maya I probably could have cut down the hours by aboot 1/3.
Update: I added some blockout props and I made the parquet material in Substance Designer: Substance material: A close up: The next steps: create materials for chairs and desks; create more blockout props (such as backpacks, crayons, skateboard, cabinets etc) What do you think for now? Any feedback is highly appreciated.…
Yeah Sweetcrazy, I need to check all that at the blockout stage ... hopefully most of it will fit ! Besides that, here is a Lone Druid design in the works for Bounchfx - complete with Spirit Ram and True Form weregoat : That's going to be a lot of work but I am looking forward to it ! I still got to test a few things out…
To start off I'll post my progress and development of the two key levels in our demo thus far: * the Sewing Room, where our player character weaves fabrics, sews clothes and dresses up in preparation for battle * the Silken Forest, the tutorial hunting ground for the player to harvest crafting materials for making fabric…
Well, I guess I'll throw my hat into the ring for this one. Looks fun. Heres a blockout in UDK: And a better blockout in maya: I have to redo my scaling and such so everything snaps correctly, cause right now, it doesn't snap right in udk. but this is what i got right now.
fletch - if it's just perspective reference you shouldn't have to bother with ngons. intersecting primitives is all you need. Sketchup and Silo don't really cut it for me in the blockout department, because of the lack of cameras. +1 for Blender 2.5 if you'd also like to render out shadows and AO in addition to the…
Hello everyone, I'm currently working on a small environmental project. The central focus will be the Bonsai Tree, as it will undergo a transformation into a Dragon and back.
Right now I'm on the Blockout phase and would appreciate feedback, particularly on the background around the Bonsai Tree: * What can I do to create a…
I actually started blocking out the scene based on my floor plan drawings and the video itself. in one scene compared to another, it became obvious that there were some differences in sizes of walls, so I improvised. Along with the fact that I would like to walk around this place in engine once it's complete. First…
two+ early blockouts in UE4. Started from one concept, but evolved :) I do not like the look of the tiles everywhere, except of ceiling on the first environment, I've did it just to test the reflections. On the second and third blockout screenshots I've also tested "film" grading, so it's low contrast and noisy. clean look…
I decided to devote some time for blockouts so that I actually know what to work on. Besides the chair, I also made blockouts for a coat hanger, a trash can, a bookshelf, a door frame with a door, a table lamp and a floor lamp. I also made this mayan-like statue to help establish the hypothetical protagonist's business. As…
