Projection really isn't super friendly. You're almost always going to lose something. Try projecting one-two subdivisions at a time, instead of going right for the highest one. You can also mask or hide areas you don't want projected and work on different bits separately. You may also want to try using xNormal for baking.…
Hey guys! Consortium, the first professional project I worked on has finally launched its Kickstarter campaign and I'm allowed to talk about it now. Its a spirtual successor to Amen: the Awakening if any of you remember that project. Lot of the same core dev team and the same lead designer. Its a wicked story driven single…
This hit me once as well. What I do now is after setting up a brand new project in DDO, I use "Save" not "Save As" This makes sure everything is saved correctly in a folder DDO creates. Than I use "Save As" so the project is saved/copied into a folder of my choice. Yes, it seems "Save As" is more of a copy/move files..…

Hi all, I am trying to project a brick wall onto a lower poly mesh. When I go to project the detail though I am getting some odd artifacting. I've had this issue before but never really fixed it. It's been awhile since I've done any game art in my freetime so I'm starting up a new project I've had on my mind for a long time. I've been needing to get a better understanding of the PBR workflow and really push myself as an environment artist so this seemed perfect. I feel like I've fallen behind on my sci fi…
Since graduating I've found it somewhat difficult to pick and commit to personal projects. It's not that I'm unmotivated, I'm constantly trying to work on new projects and learn new things. It's because I'm afraid that the project I've chosen won't do what I want it to do for me, it won't be 'enough' to get me the best…
If the projects provide no value to you, there's no harm in ditching them. Keep a backlog of a project ideas. When you get an idea, instead of starting right away, put it in the backlog. When you have time to work on a project, ask yourself what you're trying to accomplish. Then you can look over your backlog and pick the…
So this sets the project folder to C:/myproject (which I can point anyplace I want), sets the Autoback to wherever I want, and points the rest of the folders to "/myproject"? What is it doing different for Autoback than the rest of them? Or is this making C:/myproject/autoback, and then everything else just lives in a pile…
Hi everyone, Happy new year! I kinda wish I had posted this kinda earlier, but the holidays and this project kept me very busy... never too late I guess. I still have some ways to go on finishing many of the pieces and parts of this project so I'll just share. This is Betty, Black Betty. She is my first original mini and…
