It's a movie about pirates - I still don't get the negative feelings about it? What were you guys expecting going to a Disney movie about pirates? To have you minds blown in complexity and interesting universe development? I went expecting a bunch of pirate jokes, explosions, rum and Jack Sparrow...
I know some amazing animators who went through the animation mentor online course. http://www.animationmentor.com/ Very high end calibre instructors. Pixar/WETA/Disney/ILM... I think the focus is on performance animation, and will likely require knowledge of a medium before taking the course.…
I assume the new movie is due to the Marvel/Disney teamup. You can still apply, but it is incredibly unlikely it being 4 years out of school. The longest I've seen is 1 year, and that's with Disney's internship program and they're weird. I think you'd be wasting your time. You're 4 years out of uni. You should be getting paid as a post-graduate.
Haven't bought & watched this myself, but this Disney/EA guy has a 15min tut out that claims to explain how to obfuscate a Maya Python API plugin. Feels a bit weird they're asking $15 for such a short thing, but might be worth checking out: http://www.cgcircuit.com/course/lock-your-python-code
Cool, I'm going to have to check a few of these shows out. I haven't seen enough of Gravity Falls to pass judgement, but I love love love the theme song. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tctX771EQeA"]Disney's Gravity Falls - Opening Theme [HD] (Best Quality on YouTube) - YouTube[/ame]
