Welcome to the Monthly Noob Challenge 6! High-Res RULES: Please read all the rules. This may seem like it's pretty complicated, and if you are starting out it can be overwhelming, so take it piece by piece. This can be broken down into a segments. Think about what will be unique, what will be tiled, what kinda textures…
Ah fantastic, Cheers for that! Looking around, I see the guys at Quixel used a large box shaped light box to capture these textures.. I may look into making a small cheap version of that and see what results I can get..
In regards to what Josh and Kolby said about going back and forth, I honestly haven't had that issue personally. I use a 9x12 Intuos 3 at work (I only use the mouse when we play games at lunch times and such), I have a 21UX at home and its brilliant! I do sometimes wish I had the Cintiq at work, but I never have issues…
I used to have one legitimate reason, the name I wanted used to be taken. But is available now. And then there is always that "my art is not good enough" thinking. Yeah I noticed that when I printed, the colors were all wrong and really washed out. Don't know if I just had weird settings or a bad printer but it looked…
Wahaaaay, just played for a few hours. Much fun, even though I was playing with strangers (...err...) and we weren't really communicating. I wanted to practice texturing as if someone tried to wipe and clean the stains of war off, and so I utilized the Sandpaper Brush in Painter. Basically, my workflow was to completely cover the surface…
Yep, I was using a shortcut key I defined for 'toggle NURMS preview' you can find it under editable poly in the keyboard settings. I set mine to 'N' for NURMS. (n is usually set key mode) -Dont confuse it with NURBS- which are different. NURMS just means mesh smooth. for ASKHAT I start by showing how to speed up the user…
I think Richard Williams misunderstood what pissed off Milt. I think Milt was a talented animator but he didn't handle distraction well, especially if that distraction was a new hire constantly hovering around, randomizing his hero with a bunch of questions. Which I think is a much bigger problem. If Milt had headphones…
Welcome and glad to see another entry. Whoa a lot in one shot, other than not starting a thread and no updates "weekly", when possible, which would've been cool to see, but i suppose it makes the thread cleaner without them. Shouldn't be too much of an issue to get some views on your artwork. I echo the others top quality…
