To be fair, CSP and the others are gonna have the same weakness. Krita's latest release, 4.0.1, is the one going in the scripting direction. It let's you use PyQT to do a lot of things like custom dockers, colour pickers, a comic book project manager etc.
Where are you getting 900 a year from? It’s 900 forever. If you’re talking about getting constant access to the latest then it’s 360 a year, which doesn’t seem that crazy to me? The idea that people are mad with zBrush after 20 years of free updates is amazing.
There are hacky ways to do this, see the latest demo video of Allegorthmmic Alchemist for an example of this in practice, removing lighting/shading info from a texture. You end up losing detail. More info why https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/blog/imperfection-for-perfection
Thanks for the tips. In the latest build of the UE they introduced Raytracing so it's another option now. Although i can't use it because i don't have an RTX card and my PC is too old for an upgrade, i will try it out with my next build.
Lots of great progress made here, love the latest face & hair updates. Finding work in Aus can be a drag, but at this rate I bet you'll have some luck in no time flat. Also nice to see some Canberra folks around :p
Ok! It's been a while but I'm back, and I'm in it for the win. There's a lot of cool art floating about so I need to up my game! Here's the latest iteration of my Vel'koz submission and the most recent version of the cassiopeia illustration. There's still a ton to work on!
Incredible, I really love where this one has went. Your latest render is very close to indistinguishable. You captured the color variation in all the shading, such as the purple on the drapes. Everything has that proper washed out look and it blends together. Love It :D
What version are you using? I think this was a problem in earlier versions for Toolbag 3 but should be fixed in the latest public release(3.02). You can try the 3.03 beta build too by joining the user group on FB: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ToolbagUserGroup/
Give NEX a try, great toolset for maya that made my transition to maya a whole lot smoother: http://draster.com/nex-1.5/ Someone told me that most of these tools are in the latest version of maya(2011), but I've only worked with maya 7 and 2009.
A quick update before bed. I spent a bit of time trying out NDO2 (which is awesome) and trying Maya's latest Viewport 2.0 renderer. Still need to work on the textures and figure out how to do an AO bake again. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
