Thanks, @yararstss! There's nothing really special about it. I just made the base like you can see on my first update and then extracted the edges of the armor to make the borders :) Last part is just manually sculpting the detail on them
Yup, Just put it in a routine. The hardest part is starting, once you pick up that pen, open zbrush and start sculpting it becomes 200x easier to just sit there and keep working. (at least thats where I struggle :P)
The weakest part of this piece is by far the foliage/nature bits. I think you'd be better off getting rid of the tree and the ivy which are hiding some details, atleast for now, once you get better at nature you could always revisit this scene and improve it.
I am in the process of creating a new portfolio for the gaming industry. Part of my portfolio will feature designs based on the Kid Chameleon video game. I'll post the finished work in this thread and be going through each character, them enemies, and concept the effects and some other key sequences. Feel free to critique,…
Seems to be pretty common in videogame studio culture in china and soutern asia. Lots of the artstation i follow are from chinese studio rather than the artist themself. I remember one of my friend exlpained me why, but i cna'T remember. I think a part of it (except from the mindset) is related to how restricted internet…
You've got this motion going on with the background that makes it seem like there is wind, I think it would help your pose a bit more if the lose hanging parts like the wolf-links and skirt could be affected by that motion as well. I think you could also tone down the lens flare, it just seems really out of place.
This is just part of a bigger assembled piece. I hide the other parts to figure out how I can move these, and these are placeholders, not the actual parts.
Thanks so much guys! Ged: Yes, lots of animation, but only 1 lead animator and a part time contract animator. They both did a great job. Thanks for the kind words! Dan!: Thanks man! Diggin' your Killjoy character on Art Station. Btw, I work with Ben Greene at Schell. Great artist and coworker! Tobbo: Thanks very much Aaron!
Alot of modular environment making is the same as just prop tutorials. Maybe something that focus's on working with grid snapping or how to maximise uv space when you have a normal map to bake, etc. Im still for rigging. especially when part of being an environment artist means knowing how to make animated set pieces,…
It's never taken me months to rent an apartment? I show up, fill out an application, and in a few days or hours they usually call me to let me know if I'm approved. If you have a job, a good credit history, and can afford the apartment, then there's no reason for them to reject you. Usually if I'm moving to a new job I'll…
