33. Lighting & Rendering: 3-Point Lighting 3-point lighting is the base used in the majority of lighting set-ups for characters. 3-point lighting uses a key light, back light, and fill light. The key light is used to brighten the focal point in your character, usually the face and some of the upper torso. The fill light…
He's cleaned up the animations a bit and thrown it on his demoreel, both come up from 00:33 to 00:44 Khet Yee Sang animation demoreel Got bored and did another pose for the self portrait. Sometime (probably this weekend) I'll try and knock together some environments for the three models to date, so they don't simply exist…
why don't you just put the alpha where it belongs? in the alpha channel instead of a separate texture, then you can simply plug the alpha into the opacity mask slot. you could also get more variety into your branches, if you put more then just one alpha into the texture, you could do several alphas for several shapes and…
Comments: @Jessica: Thanks, since blizzard didn't give many restrictions I'm just going to make it look good as possible within reason of course. I also added some green in the shadows of the bark which could read as moss or something. Thanks for the suggestions I really appreciate it. :) Update: I managed to get the tree…
Thanks I'll try and make the coat more curvy like it'd be around a body tomorrow, I'll have to find some new pics of coats on regular people since the reference I was using is about in this shape. Long time no update, been working on it every day but it's always just trying stuff and then re-doing it. Fun stuff, but I am…
Really? A $400 system that was crashing for consumers, then charging the consumer to ship the POS back, only to have it happen again shortly thereafter? How about not allowing supporting third party devices. Charging $180 for a 120GB HDD? No wireless guitar for GH2 because MS wouldn't give them the info for the wireless…
Regarding the fact mentioned in the interview that monitors reconstruct images by mixing up RGB : I find the work of Sergey Prokudin-Gorsky to be highly enlightening on that subject. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergey_Prokudin-Gorsky Not only is it amazing to see pictures of that era in full color ; but also, there is…
Palms facing forward is a diagram and anatomical reference thing, but you want to sculpt in the relaxed palms-down pose, as JadeEyePanda said. It's better for the rig and the animators to work with, beyond just being a set standard. This thing is essentially a diagram of planar forms. That's why I linked it earlier.…
Hello All. I'm interested in becoming a UX/UI artist. I've looked around this site, but most of the information is slightly dated, and industries move very fast in this day and age. Any information anyone could give would be a massive help. 1) Is it a viable career? Years back I heard 3D character jobs have a massive pool…
Hello everybody! So I was trying to model this eleven tooth drive sprocket and I've tried a couple approaches. The first one was to try and start from the outer circle for which I made a cylinder with 33 subdivisions since it matched the step of the teeth (1 face = 1 tooth, 2 faces = distance between them). My intention…
