psst... Ctrl-A... selects all <!SHOCK!> Ctrl-D is actually "Select None" and won't get you out of sub object mode. Are you thinking of Ctrl-B? Which is sub object selection toggle?
Thanks! That worked perfectly. However, ctrl+shift+X isn't assignable. It assigns fine, but doesn't actually do anything when pressed. So I have planar on Y assigned to ctrl+shift+Y, on Z it's ctrl+shift+Z, and x is ctrl+shift+...D. -_- Still works fine though, thanks!
Ok, icky fix, but it works. It was in the first place I looked, it just seemed like it was a bad idea. There are 26 named commands that get treated special and have their default hotkeys listed in menus, such as "File>New Ctrl-N" in Maya 2012. These are the hotkeys that will revert back to default behavior if you have…
You dont need to make a script, just rebind edge remove under ribon - modeling to a hotkey, then hold down ctrl and press it just like you do with ctrl backspace (correction: assign both the hotkey you want and ctrl plus the hotkey you want as shortcut too edge remove for me d , ctrl + d )
