I switch between the mouse and a Wacom tablet whenever I'm doing 3d. If I'm sculpting in Zbrush then of course I'll be using the tablet 100% of the time. But when I'm in 3ds Max I often use the tablet but will sometimes switch back to the mouse if I need to do precise clicking. Same when I'm in Topogun retopologizing.
Greetings Fellow Creatives! My quest continues to make every looping track on my site available in higher-quality Ogg format, so this week we have: "THE ITALIAN HEIST" You can listen to it here: https://soundimage.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/The-Italian-Heist.ogg And freely download it here:…
I'm not interpreting anything as a LoD here at all. What the graph says there is that GPU is Idle when rendering less then 130 tris per batch. If it calls a separate drawcall, then your single 100-tri object is a single batch. And then making an object of less then 130 tris technically makes little sense. So making a lod…
Hi Martina from "Nerdforge" created
a resource list of tutorials for learning to draw in 100 hours. They made a
video of her husband, Hansi, going through the tutorials in order and
documenting his progress. I've made a Padlet if
anyone fancies giving it a go, your welcome 👍…
I see these: "need stability financially and in terms of lifestyle" and "I know that I'm not prepared to move from state to state every few years for the sake of work. Nor am I willing to stomach months of unemployment" And I immediately think that, unfortunately, games may not be the best thing for you at this point in…

As others have said, you don't need anything fancy. Previous desk was one of those special ones, was really uncomfortable. The one I have now is basicly just one of those ikea ones like this: http://www.ikea.com/be/nl/catalog/products/S19903730/ + http://www.ikea.com/be/nl/catalog/products/S99903689/ (in black) but I bough…
@Tom_Axler The time frame is there to provide that structure that can be useful when simply trying to overcome the choice paralysis of where to start that's so easy to get into. In the end though, reaching the finish line is the most important part and I'm grateful that both you and @LeonDreiling kept at it. Just finishing…
there's some interesting maths regarding combining normal maps..... you can add the normals together and normalize the result but this does not give the correct result as it generates a kind of blended/average result. To do the math correctly you create a transform matrix from the base normal and then transform the…
Upgrading your CPU without upgrading your motherboard is almost always a futile process. You'll pay $1-300 for a cpu that is 10% faster. If you really want to upgrade you cpu, SAVE that money and put it into a new CPU/Mobo/Ram combo when you can afford it. In this case you could buy a AMD 5000+ off ebay for $100 and get a…
