Is it possible to have separate UV maps for a merged object? That is the question. Can I have one object but separate uv maps for different polygon groups without the UV maps overlapping? Thank you.
absolutely pure topology. it's just a UV sphere separated once by a separation surface modifier the problem appears only on this mesh. there is no dense topology here, as for example on the body of a lizard (900,000 polygons), but the body is easily exported. triangulation doesn't help either
Thetraza This might help you http://nicholasgiovinco.com/nicholasgiovinco/2011/2/4/polygon-modeling-tables-for-3d-artists.html and the discussion link http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=2&t=764151 Regards
Can't see any pics, but 800 polygons is really really low resolution. To do snow well, you'll want a detail modulation kind of technique, like discussed here. The Snow and Ice of Uncharted2?
I suspect it's just an additive texture applied to some camera-facing polygon strips? Probably with an animated texture (possibly using world coordinates as UVs) to give the impression of haze as the laser passes through it.
why would you press E? what does the red t do. it shows you a manipulator click on the cirkels also go to Polygon panel/ create uv/ cylindrical mapping/ help / read
Viewing the default checker pattern in High Quality mode will make it nice and crisp again. If you still have checkers stretching, it's because your UV shells are the wrong shape for its respective polygon.
I've updated the thread with some personal image dump archives, extra links and a smashing polygon table. Everything tries to relate in some way to hard surface topology or modeling. Peace out and enjoy!
Weak as in they don't pop out very much. Just multiply it in the material editor to make it a little stronger. And don't be afraid to add a few more polygons on some of the rounder objects like the fire extinguisher.
Actually this script did the trick. now the faces are almost unified. http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/unify-flip-normal-polygons Thank you all for the helps I appreciate it very much.
