Business suits? A bakers outfit, full on military gear? Skin tight sneaking suit? Ninja gear? Bunny outfit? Jeans and a t-shirt? What does one wear when paid a grip of cash to kill someone?
Upon further testing, it doesn't seem to be xNormal's problem. Using Maya and Softimage's baker/mapper gives the same error. Giving my cage mesh an even further push value was it. Thank you for the help, Ace-Angel.
I wouldn't use the baking tools in Mudbox or Zbrush, get a dedicated baker like xNormal, Knald, Marmoset Toolbag, etc. The best results section of this tutorial covers floaters: https://www.marmoset.co/posts/toolbag-baking-tutorial/
A lot of our bakers can work without a high-poly mesh. It would help if you could give more information. In which software are you trying to bake ? What does those weird shadows look like ?
something fresh out of the oven (toolbag 3 baker). still a few areas that need attention before i can start some actual texturing - i keep finding fresh and conflicting reference for this thing all the time.
just for reference when you create curvature bakes with 3do baker will it bake out one then throw it though an algorithm or bake out each of the 7 different ranges to get better fidelity and avoid seam-based shenanigans?
Your problem is likely that you aren't using either a cage or a baker with averaged ray projection, and your high poly edges are inside of your low poly edges. See 17:00 in this video: http://youtu.be/kGszEIT4Kww
You can automate everything in SD. Actually not in SD directly, but there are command line tools for the bakers, so you can call them from any software or just through a script and bake as many meshes as needed at once.
This is just a "nice to have" feature; the ability to set the sampling quality per-map for the baker. I'm using an older/slower GPU so, to cut down on bake times, I use lower sampling for the maps that don't really need it.
First render of Ziggs (League of Legends) - Skin Mad Baker. This week I'l make some improvements (texture and pose /diorama)I'll keep this post updated. I hope you like it! :3 https://sketchfab.com/nadyecrysis https://www.artstation.com/artist/nadyecrysis
