In max 9 and up if you hold down Ctrl and select 'remove' it'll take both the verts and the edges. It's in the "what's different between 9 and 8" document. -

hawken started out with 9, and I don't think they scaled back to 6, I am pretty sure more artist where involved with that project then those original 9 -

And how do you feel about the 21:9 ratio? At work I have 3 monitors and the thing I like is that I can have them at a certain angle, which with a single 21:9 display is impossible.
