I have done a blockout and a base mesh for the tree that will sit in the middle. After doing a couple of vairiations I realized that making it slightly bend will look more interesting in comparison to the horizontal and vertical lines of the modular architecture. Wanted to do it at first in 3ds max but I realized that I…
Why don't you place a seed to his crater-like back? Something like Bulbasaur's seed :P .Or you can incorporate the roots to the model and make them stick out of the leg, not only in the texture. If the roots were more dominant, it would look more like a plant-creature. From your color compositions i like number 4 because…
[ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dy_DASt7hDs"]Heisenberg. You're Goddamn Right. Walter White, Say My Name Breaking Bad Season 5 - YouTube[/ame] Walt's losing his mind. He was once cool and calculated, but that time is done. He's now a reckless walking time bomb (as Mike once said). Interesting part is how you've come…
600 polys for the low poly isn't bad but , is this plant a small or a big thing? will it be very present or not? plus you still need to add foliage as it seems to understand and I guess you want it to be bendeable? I like the original concept tough is more unique than the one you come out later with wich looks more complex…
Based on a great suggestion from AtticusMars, I've moved Technical Talk and all its subforums into a new root category called Technical Forums. The primary reason is to free up space inside Technical Talk, so discussions are first and foremost. It shouldn't break any links or anything, but it does shove General Discussion…
High Poly Organic asset in the works. Just started sculpting it out tonight for kicks. Just about finished wrapping up my hard surface high poly Nail Gun, so I thought i'd contrast it with something organic. I've only played around with zbrush a bit before in a stream of conscious-loose way. I'm almost thinking to redo the…
Ok, so I think I understand. If I were to make the same thing correctly, would I put the root sphere in a place where only two other spheres would be coming off of it? Is that the problem? EDIT: I tried that but there are still huge problems coming off of the root sphere, even though there are only 2 spheres coming off of…
Playing around with my Photoshop file, I did notice as well that my Root/Gradient bakes were having no effect with my ID bakes enabled. I've adjusted a few things and got them working with everything again, so this time the roots should be a bit darker than they were before. The other question is - when overlaying my AO…
If you texture with a tileable, there should be no seams on the branches, roots, or trunk - the way I learned is to build those pieces as perfect cylinders first, fit the seamless texture onto those cylinders, and then go back to the model and tweak it toward the final shape. It is much easier to change the geo after you…
