if you hold ctrl + alt it behaves like the old tool would. I don't think there is a way to set that as default. In fact I don't think you can set any new defaults in the UV editor for things like relax or pack dialog menus. I think setting new hotkeys works but any other defaults, forget it. I had the issue aswell, there's a workaround, select all surfaces (shift S), go in properties (F4) and there you'll have 3 properties you got to set back to default, it's a bug in march2 udk. lightmass settings > *use two sided lighting *shadow indirect only *emissive light falloff exponent set these 3 back to default… -

Shader FX One light support? (And other whines)
Im trying out Shader FX mostl, to just see the painting of diffuse and spec with normal maps from Photoshop. The default dx or phong render many times "forgets" to update the textures. That and the DX shader of standard material 90% of the time renders the object as unspecular phong, no matter my settings (this is Max 9).… -

Well, there's the "Snaps" icon down in the bottom right of the Edit UVWs window, make sure that's not checked (it defaults to grid snap, if you click and hold it changes to a popup with grid or pixel snap, a magnet icon with a P next to it). I had the same problem. UVs randomly disappearing. Somehow some of my geo was given a second UV set (which had the correct uvs) and left the original one blank and active. My guess is that because the default uv set wasn't named map1 this may have caused the bug. So I copied the correct uvs from the bad set to the default… -
