Decided to give this a go so here's the block in and a rough sketch. Please don't make fun of my big wet bone boy. He's very sensitive about his lack of eyes and ears and genitals.
wow this is great! I wish all game art books showed the full production art more like this! often they devote loads of pages to little blown up sketches and then nothing much to models and textures.
I'm currently working on a base mesh for a game project. A soldier model that can stand on it's own but can easily be transformed into other archetypes with secondary assets. Only some sketches and a zbrush sculpt to show at the moment.
Really nice sketches you have there :) But your environment has made my day, for real, it has personality, keep it up, man! I cant wait to see more environment work from you!!
Wow,I have not been here for quite a while xD I have been streaming some sketches on Twitch, and thought I'd post them here. I am so out of practice :x
Fan piece I've started a rough sketch of - Yavana from the Dragon Age Silent Grove comics  Really need to improve her pose/gesture feeling a bit stiff yet, early days.
I found changing the default Windows double click speed resolved some issues for me, as when sketching quickly my wacom would think i was attempting to double click when i wasn't.
- Surf the internet less - less time behind the monitor, because that's what I do at work. - Complete the games I have not completed yet. - More sketching, pencil / pen on pad. Ideas. - More music.
Amounts of color, value, shadows are always lost in photos to a certain degree. Plus life drawing usually consists of quicker sketches as well as longer ones so you train to see forms quicker and not the details.
Nice sketches Shock, i dig the bear summon! Out of curiosity, how often do polycount dota 2 monthly comp themes get items accepted by Valve? Are these themes influenced by Valves decisions?
