Hi there, I'm using Quixel DDO to create a door. The handle is Brass. It saves the goldy/yellow color in the specular map. And looks great in the 3DO. I import eveything into Unreal, create a material and assign the textures into the right slots. The brass handle comes out black instead of the gold looking color it should…
Yeah, the strong underlighting creates a really cool effect. I was inspired by The Abyss, which has a similar lighting on the Deep Core platform, but my version ended up pretty subtle to draw more attention to the workbench, but I now realize I may have over corrected. I have a caustic effect on the moonpool light that I…
Hi guys, I'm looking to contract a 3D artist to create game-ready (real-time) assets for a new Unity game currently in development. The game is a (futuristic/sci-fi themed) Factory/RPG, for PC only, top-down/isometric camera. The entire project requires roughly:* 40 sci-fi buildings (1 model each + simple animation loop)*…
Hi guys, newbie here. So I want to create a 3D asset. I want to bake my highpoly mesh to lowpoly. After baking, I tried the baked result to lowpoly, but why does the result have edges like this in the lowpoly mesh? (Highpoly mesh) (Lowpoly Mesh) Result
At the moment just soughting through my shaders and base layers which I'll probably implement for each element or part modeled I'd originally created for this scene i.e. via semi-procedural workflow Ucupaint offers combining masks or materials too suit, therein adding values then mapping them using curves on any channel…
First off, sorry I didn't respond to anyone's questions earlier. I should probably subscribe to threads in the future. I am using Cascade currently for a one week contract at a local game company. Cascade is a fantastic particle system and I'm enjoying using it. I have used it a bit in the past so I was not completely…
@Ashervisalis On starting the
mentorship program I mainly wanted to improve my buildings and
foliage. You choose what you are wanting to focus on and the project
that you do with guidance from Ryan. I've quickly listed what I
learnt below – although keep in mind I wasn't a complete beginner
at some of this but Ryan helped…
martenzander said: Yes, it's very common. I think that tutorial just tried to make things simple and in doing so made things more complicated than it needed to be. Here are some other tutorials that go through the process with the arms in an A-Pose. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOokoFED7QE…
The "If->Then" and the "I do" I hope I can show you a bit of understanding between the coders and the artists and the conflict which can appear between those caracters. I have something like a coder history, I got very deeply into that for some years, guess I can say that I lived it like a total freak in that time + I…
Knald is great at creating all these maps. i use the convexity maps to create masks for edge ears which can be used to paint roughness/gloss maps easier and specular highlights etc. you can just copy the convexity from Knald to an alpha channel/load selection and use it as a layer mask.
