I'm very familiar with this approach, I've used it and wrote about it back in the dark ages of baking - it has significantly more disadvantages than advantages. I would consider it if baking in Xnormal or some other baker that doesn't have modern features, but otherwise, you're adding steps only to produce worse quality… -

does anyone have any spare desktop parts they want to give away or otherwise scrap? My gpu in my laptop is dying and thanks to an unfortunate event I no longer have a desktop, this unfortunately means I will be computerless once the gpu dies, if anyone has any spare parts I would be willing to find a way to pay for… -

- Took a week (or two) break from this model... continued yesterday, did UVs for all parts, and started with textures. - Textures are very much WIP, put some materials in all parts, masked them for specular and gloss and so on. - I also started painting face and skin color maps. - Metal parts will be done in Silo.
