Same here. Can't wait for Dark Void, too - seems like forever since they released the initial game play teaser videos. Between those two, Bioshock 2 and the PC release of AC2, it doesn't bode well for my New Year's resolution of being more productive....
Hm you're right, it seems to have problems with single faces here too. My first test was projecting on 3. Two are fine as well, maybe the curve split algorithm needs to touch at least 2 faces to work properly for some reason. Wonder if they fixed this problem in 2013.
What Firith said. You might not have enough space between these two spots on your unwrap. If they're too close or your bleed from the bake starts to overlap you might get some noise Its hard to say though without seeing your unwrap.
Over two hours 4096x4096 ambient occlusion bake in Marmoset Toolbag 3 with highest settings, but it was worth it. Sampling was 4x though. This is pure flat shading, and I'm in awe. :O I can't just believe this result. Suberb baker!!! The option to use floor occlusion is awesome too.
Out of the three, the second one is better in my opinion. The first one seems really big and bulky, and the third one seems way too small (and it kind of looks like a weird bird). The second one seems to capture the two perfectly, and fit with the name you came up with.
The vegetation's looking really great! My only crit would be the tree trunk looks a little odd. I think the two main branches are too thick. It makes it feel very disconnected from the rest of the branches. Can't wait to see it implemented around the house. Awesome work.
I think they only show up when the base level has a sharp enough angle between two polypons. If it's too low (under 60degrees maybe?) then it wont show up. Pull a vertex high enough with the move brush so that the angle becomes sharper and they will begin to appear.
That's really interesting, I've noticed it too using crease sets (double turbosmooth). I find I end up using a combination of the two workflows to combat the issue. Crease sets are super nice to use since you can quickly preview the mesh in maya smoothed with [3].
That's odd, I recall my local Best Buy always having at least two of them on the shelf by the 360 stuff. What I'd really like is one of these. Metal and leather, H pattern 6 speed shifter (no accidental reverse!!), clutch pedal...Too bad they're $350 :(
Thx Jf! Good luck too! I'm learning Houdini right now and I think that I will participate on this challenge in this software and not maya. I will work on those two spells from Nautilus and Urgot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFbQ6SvYk18 (The videos are from the youtube channel: LeagueOfUpdate)
