Shim, I'd say the lower jaw of the dog looks almost polygonal in nature, which is a sharp contrast to the painterly textured look of the rest of the piece. Thats all that spoils it for me.
yeah, most of your details comes from beveled extrusions. lots of them. instead of overdoing it with those, try making some interesting curved shapes accented by sharp edges.
Nice, the head lacks sharpness though, it looks like it was smoothed too much. The deformation test looks real nice, all though he looks a bit poo coloured...
I like the sharp edges in your drawing, which looks like cool and unique style, but your 3d model is all soft edged :) Cool illustrations on your website!
You can subdivide without getting the smoothing. It is a small checkbox just next to the DIVIDE button. Click it off, and then devide as much as you want without loosing the edge sharpness.
Very nice. Ears are definitely a little high though. Cool edge loops too. Upper lip is a little "sharp" for my liking... Totally SouL style though! MoP
I'm trying to create a Carrara marble subway tile using the brick generator. Is there any way to get sharp square edges and corners? The best I have been able to do is attached and is very rounded. Thanks.
yeah i know.. but in bakeing it is impossible to generate something usefull if you make the edges like in real life. To be honest i think some stuff is to sharp already ^^
good start! however these edges don't give enough detail to normal map as they are too sharp..you would want to make them softer for a better normal bake.
