Something that i like alot about the substance suit is the hability to create custom tools in designer to use in painter, makes a bunch of things much faster and you can create some cool dynamic effects like paint peeling etc. Also i would really like to see something similar to anchor points on mixer.
UV's done. Broke the mesh in to parts and used the Zbrush UV master tool. Took a while to realize that UVing the whole mesh in one piece was not going to work. I have added here the zbrush sculpt and the clothes concept. I found quite a few Problems with the mesh that i could not fix so I starter over.
That's quite a cool look, I'll play with it a little more and I'll see what I can do. Marmoset really isn't the right tool for producing these renders, all those real time lights chug like crazy - but when I'm short of time and can't sit around for a bake it's pretty convenient. Thanks for the feedback :)
Hi Vavavoom, keep up the progress! I have had a little tweak using the liquify tool in PS (so excuse the lack of tightness), just to see how tweaking the leg, ribcage and pelvic area slightly would help get some more character in to her sillouette. Have a look, and if its of any help, cool :)
I had the chance to try this project and have to say that it's really cool! Besides of the graphics i liked the level editor a lot. I wish everyone would care about tools that much. If someone likes games like X-Com or Jagged Alliance and looks for a project to work on, this would be a very good your choice!
Very cool little birdy , mate ! It turns out grate so far, you've captured the concept perfectly ! Try using the pinch brush more , it is great tool ! The forms of the sculpt all read equally soft right now, maybe it will benefit if you pinch here and there and try to differentiate the beak material from the fleshhy parts.
I'm not going to finish this. I used to like this stuff, but maaaaaaan is it tedious! Here's as far as I had the patience to go with it. I don't know how some of you guys do this kind of thing professionally. This took me all morning and now I feel like a tool for wasting the time. Here it is anyway though:
All the texture artists in my studio use crazy bump. It's a really great tool. ShaderMap looks cool, I'll definitely give it a try. I'm not positive about this but I recall DU/DV maps being used for the refraction maps for water and stuff. Not entirely sure of this though. I've never actually used one.
Yeah man, I'm definitely having fun with it. After I started upgrading the bombs, it got way fun, just blowing the crap out of the Zs. Can't wait to max out the bombs and get some MG upgrades, too. :D Those tools definitely sound very cool, too; really nice job on those.
