Should i feel bad for not being excited about this? So what, the next bioshock will be on land? or ice? ... space maybe? probably.. biosystemshock the art style is kinda neat i suppose... except the goddamn overused heart behind glasss. let me guess, we gotta shoot it?
Yes, that's the solution. It's simply explained here: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=140607 Then use the same texture (or material function) of tiles rock on two objects. Mask the common texture it out (for example with vertex color as a lerp input) in one of them, except for the edges (the place of…
Just a few updates, everything heavy work in progress... more is done to show, but now yet. As always, I try to maintain all details except the things that can be done with nDo or dDo/Substance. Maschinengewehr 13 ( MG13) (first Wehrmacht machine gun) Maschinengewehr 15 with Zusatzger
Razer blade might tick all the boxes except price and weight. that said if your looking for portable powerhouse i don't know if it can be beat. it is very expensive however but you can at least look at it for a baseline of the kind of things that other pc manufacturers might provide www.razerzone.com
it's a nice idea but in my experience Internet based workgroups tend to split apart pretty quickly without strong motivation (mod teams ECT), the exception to this rule in my opinion is unearthly challenge but then there is at least a minimal amount professionalism involved, also winning it for polycount is pretty strong…
Here's my current WIP. No specific reference for this one, but I did start gathering reference to start a bust of Alton Brown. Why? Because he's awesome. Dynamesh seemed to behave a little better with this one. Well, except the part where it welded little bits of the mouth together...
It sounds to me that working for someone else in the industry is a raw deal artistically except for a few exemplar instances. I think I'd rather work with a bunch of talented people that share my vision and work together to make it happen. Kinda like a Co-op game dev studio.
yes, that's correct except the normal map is usually a 1024 per rock formation. These rocks are generally sculpted in Z-brush and the decimated down to a few thousand tris. If you use Udk, the example Foliage map has a giant rock prop that has a similar material set up.
I think it looks neat, would look nice with some cell shading. There isn't much to crit really, except that you have some wasted polys on the side of the head, mainly in the jaw area. You also have a five sided poly above the ear...tsk tsk
This sounds great Rick. I'm interested. It sounds like it might be similar to Scott Ruggels' tutorial, except using extrude instead of patches. I'm curious to see how you weld your sections together, since you'll have different edge counts where pieces meet.
