Blockout looks good but yeah the bricks are way too reflective. Check out some reference and you will see bricks can some times have a bit of spec going on but are often very matte. examples http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3c/India_-_Sights_%26_Culture_-_Rural_Brick_Making_Kiln_02_(4040024973).jpg…
Here is the blockout I have done in Maya And exported to UDK for scale purposes, let me know if anything doesn't look right I'm now focusing on certain assets, firstly I'm starting off with the chair I'm not 100% confident with UV optimization and would like some feedback on this, I hope I've not done anything wrong EDIT:…

No idea how to approach the environment design pipeline, I'm in over my head, feeling paralyzed, but going to start making some props and see how it goes, lol. here is latest blockout @Cheungygirl: Thanks for the suggestions. I always loved orrerys, back since the Dark Crystal, but never new what they were called.…
As jeffro said the stucco looks sweet, great work on that. I do agree to some part with the roof tiles I don't think it looks as unfinished as a blockout, but I think you maybe can push some more details in the shadows, like the selfshadowing from the other tiles seams a bit to flat right there. Just amazing how good some…

Thank you ! Thank you ! Pirate ship as the rest of models is modular too. It contains separated object: body, mast, sails, figure (was made with Decimation modifier just for a quick texturing) and steering wheel. Ive made it for variety of ranks of ships (Sloop, brig, galleon). Body of the ship was blockout and sculpted…
Yes. Can't see them unless you're really looking hard. Make sure you;re being smart about order of operations. Make your gameplay blockout first. Play for awhile, adjusting the space until the gameplay feels good. Then once the gameplay is all ironed out, put in the nice meshes. Before fixing any seams, play the level and…
Decided to rework the entire blockout because I wasn't happy with the color scheme, changed to a cooler palette. Right off the bat I want to rework some of the painted armour metal, I like the colour but it's a bit too shiny for what I want. I think Im going to make it a much rougher and less clean metal. Also Im going to…
