Utterly despicable - I've got no time for parasites like that. As you say - the legal cost won't even be covered by the payout that you'll receive. Reason why I'd definately think twice before using an outsourcing group, and i'd rather use a freelancer where possible.
you work at ubisoft? they should have it - of course this is an on production level price, not a private at home or freelancing tool. To productions it's pretty simple math. How much will it cost to create LODs for all assets, how long will it take and will my artists stay sane doing those?
I'd also like to know more about the legal aspect of freelancing. Especially in Canada. From what I've heard, contracting overseas, or even for a client in the United States can be a major headache. I really wish there was some sort of definitive resource for these kinds of things.
Have a read through this article by Jon Jones. He pretty much nails it and being an outsource manager he is the type of guy who will be looking at your site for freelancing. There is also a CrunchCast or 2 that go over in detail some pretty awesome advice on websites/folios.

Personally i like this one: https://www.cgtrader.com. It is not one of the biggest ones but their cut is fair and pretty decent for finding freelance. Now full disclosure i use this for a little side money so i cannot speak for how much you can earn overall.
Got a break from work / freelance to do some more on this. Rearranged the composition a bit, tried having the two main bodies of land be on seperate levels - I think it's a bit more interesting. Also wrapped up the 4way WS Blend material for my base!
honestly for me it was a mix of savings plus buying one at a discount from my friend when he was upgrading. Doing a little freelance on the side if you can will help a lot too if you're able. Keep in mind a cintiq is absolutely not a necessity, just a nicer alternative.
well yes and no Joxx. Id say you biggest problem is that u havent research enough in montreal. Ive been here for over 8 years, and All the problems u have are easily solves. Except the taxes i guess. (worse for a freelancer tho kthanks)
