I saw this promotional ZBrush render: Do you think this was rendered in ZBrush? How can I get this SSS effect in ZBrush where the light shines through cloth but not an object behind it?
Hi to everyone. As title; I have some question about sss radius map, exactly how did it work? The radius values in the material have a huge range, it's not like specular B/W, so how exactly could i use the color values in a radius map? I tried a black and white map, first trying to find a colour value similar to the radius…
Hi there, i would like to share with you a very simple SSS Shader. Shader : https://www.dropbox.com/s/rohw6u2ap93x7yg/CG_SSS.rar?dl=0 You can use it in your project. just credit me if so.
Heya everyone, sorry for posting again! And this will be abit of a longer one. This projects kicking my butt, never tried SSS before but think its a huge next step for my characters so i watched "Magdalena Dadela" Tutorial on how to use a thickness map to create an SSS map and made one that appears too work when isolated…
If you read Bryan Cavett's post, you'll see he puts the SSS map into the slot for the back-surface scatter colour. Basically that means that any sub-surface scattering effecting showing through a back surface will be tinted towards the colour in the SSS map.
Hello I am a beginner in making zbrsh materials and rendering in zbrush in general, so I followed a super cool tutorial about making skin material in zbrush ( if someone is interested here is a link ) But for some reason ZBrush doesn't want to render my SSS shader and I don't understand why. Please help :'( :'( :'(
as for SSS tutorials, here's a half decent one. http://www.lamrug.org/resources/doc/sss-skin-tutorial.pdf lengthy though, but you learn a few things. for most of this shader stuff you have to be a programmer, completely void of artistic talent.
