There seems to be a lot about the details ( C-shaped connector.. so he looses the shoulder pas in battle or does his shoulder "carry" a a secret).. but about what for example his skin ? I agree with Noren. Atm it looks like a bean bag man. The lower jaw doesn't look like it is made for eating. The lumpy flesh doesnt really make sense. When doing characters its important to ground them in fact. You can use an app like Daz3D as reference to help guide your anatomy. -

Just make sure if you try and be different from the majority, you don't copy an innovation that proved to be successful, because apparently people hate that shit. so, no gritty hyper-realism, and now we can cross charming stylization off the list as well. -
