Like all the tools, it has its limitations, you cannot expect more. Simmetry only can be used for simmetry related problems. @Lemenus Without seeing the results of each model or workflow it's difficult to provide specific feedback but in general: The subdivision block out should progress in stages. Keeping things fairly simple at the start makes it easier to edit the primary forms. Once those larger shapes are established it's fine to lock them… -

I think pre-2017 the relax tool defaults to relax by edge angles. Usually 90%of the time you'll want to relax by face angles.
