Have you tried subdividing the model first in Maya/Modo, with smoothing off, then importing that and subdividing with smooth on in Zbrush? That works pretty well for me. Or you could try the method Faf explains in her Vertex tutorial: http://i.imgur.com/Qq8WhqR.jpg
Wordpress is really nice, but i prefer Serendipity has a better skinning engine and a big collection auf plugins and customations that makes live easier. Ohh and before i forget an better spamprotection built in.
Is there a quick way (perhaps a script) to reset the floating window positions for max (and the same for maya). It can be a right pain in the arse faffing around trying to get the material editor to show up again after you unplug a second monitor.
Holy eff! :poly142: I love that scene! This feels more chunky, more OCP and robocop? Might be the pose. The modelling looks crisp, really loving the details so far. Just check the overall shape though first perhaps. Nice work.
Dat AFG. Cool design, what's with the odd shading though? It looks consistently weird. Like a Sub-D model without any subdivision applied, only smooth edges. Just curious as I'm not 100% sure what's going on in from these images.
Thanks rumblesushi. For UVing, I just used a mixture of Blender's default ABF and LSCM algorithms. They're very fast, both for organics, as well as hard surface. The big pain in the ass was all the rigging, but even still that only took about an hour.
you could unwrap it in Blender while keep modeling in Wings3D. Unwrapping in Blender can be smooth considering the otherwise horrible controls in it. It has ABF and LSCM unwrapping methods, so you just need to mark some edges and then have it unwrap it for you.
The tools to deal with this are... edit mode, Ctrl+T to tessellate, Ctrl+Shift+F to 'turn', Alf+J to convert back to quad. Generally speaking once you do that the quad keeps it's turned edge orientation.
G3l: Arf! I should of thought that, Thanks! I'll repost a new image of it, when I got more to show, dont feel like posting up every little change of detail, thanks dude!
