Heres the first of a few lowpoly bakes I guess. Going to get a final one out tonight and then blockout the colours. @Maydream3d: yours came out pretty good man. Nice clean normals and such. Looking at yours I can see a few things ive missed so will have to go back in and add some small elements!
The more you model, the better you can eyeball and guess, I'd suggest getting a lot of reference, but don't let it bog you down. Sometimes references don't match up perfectly or perspective makes it harder to determine exactly where something is. If you don't have much for reference do a good blockout and make sure the…
I started with a rough blockout to make sure the proportions fit and joint movement works before doing the real modelling. At the moment I'm not so sure what to do with the exposed areas at the back under the pod, maybe some greebles will work. Added some missiles to the pod, other than that I tried to stick to the concept…
First update post on this thread. I worked a bit on clothes and some accesories blockout. I mainly updated girl's face and started the oni one. Girl full body: Face closeup: I'm not too happy whit the face, I have to modify it quite a bit. Oni face: Quite happy with oni's face until now.
Heyyy its been a little while. Here is where I'm at now: I fiddled with lighting a little bit, added a few more blockout props..added more icicles. I made new ceiling beams..textures aren't done yet. Also..texture on the wall on the left is just the ceiling beam texture..I'll replace that soon.
Cheers! Have worked on a few things with this regarding the blockout and some other areas of the piece, but for now I just want to show an update to the earlier texture... IT BLENDZ! I feel the almost black texture is a bit too much and might tone that down and I feel the light needs a tad bit of colour variation in it.…
Also do you have a blockout? It normallly helps to block everything out so you have a nice idea of what it will look like and spot any potential issues! Also it looks like its in max/maya? If I am wrong ignore me but if it is you should think about putting it in an engine :) Nice HP stuff though :)
Hey bud. It looks like a solid blockout. You have the main shapes in but I would really go in and try to add detail if you want to push it. In this something like this post http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1469125&postcount=10901 You can see the big solid shapes and the little areas of detail that make it…
An update on the face i also blocked out the body but its a pretty basic blockout so kinda removed it from the image :P still need to widen the face abit and from a quick photoshop session yesterday raise the chin just a bit should be working on the body stuff tonight :D Cheers for the kind words guys and all the help :)
Did you make a high poly of this gun first? Or is this only the blockout? I'm also a little confused about the back part. Is the design actually faceted like that or is it supposed to be perfectly round and you're just trying to stay within a polygon budget? The front has a much smoother silhouette than the backside and it…
