As I understand, you made it before the contest started and didn't post any updates, so I'm not sure if it can be qualified for this contest. It is quite good item for workshop, but I think it should be submitted outside of this contest.
Hard to follow your process here, but for item 1 why not bake those multiple models into a single lowpoly mesh? Same thing with #2, bake it. Some tutorials here that might help http://wiki.polycount.com/EnvironmentSculpting
Picture of the day , Feb 20 2013 Wolverine: Uncaged - Art by Eric Spray I like this one, it has plenty of small props and items while remaining pretty simplistic. Could be turned into a very cool environment
more floor work, bit of grease and shinealong the path and some good old fashioned dirt in them corners. lastly sprinkle a few smaller items, paper, stones small rubble around the non walked areas
Revisit your cargo shorts and shoes are not obeying how those clothing items usually crate folds, creases, etc. Focus on the mechanics of HOW the folds flow, originate, and terminate across the human body when worn.
pudge hook ill make a concept based on that more apealing shape and see what we can work out , you can modify, of course, every idea its considered to make a better looking item
that's shield is really nice for your first concept art! I kinda feel like it needs to be part of a set, like maybe it wouldn't fit with the default items... I don't know, it looks really good though!
Finally someones doing it! :D Please try to sell it on Gumroad as soon as you also submit to UE4 Marketplace. The UE4 Marketplace takes 1 to 2 months to publish an item and it's really hard to wait for this to come out! :)
- have a rough idea what you waant to do. Like "hard surface or organic" - decide the like mech, char, weapon etc - search for inspiration - fall in love with a concept or idea/item etc - do it : P
Since it seems like and item that would be displayed close to the screen I think you should have a few more polygons in the areas which are currently a bit pointy, such as the buttons, the camera thingy, and the corners on the left part.
