Found some time during this week lunch times to finish my entry for the Allegorithmic contest. Meet Commander Mat17...yes i'm in kind of space mood these days :)
is it a good idea to just master the Allegorithmic pack, or are there other tools that a studio might want me to know. I want to work in the game industry as an environment artist.
To use it as a layer mask you need to make it into a generator. The process is quite well documented on the Allegorithmic site although naming of input nodes can be a bit weird
If I recall correctly, Wes uploaded an updated version of the high poly to fix this (prob the mesh was missing the vertex colors). Check Allegorithmic forums for the DL link.
Put several tile generators into a graph and hook them all up to the same set of input parameters. That sort of stuff is fairly well documented on the Allegorithmic site
The first thing I'd have done is log a bug report with allegorithmic since their driver version detection is obviously broken. Reinstalling windows was almost certainly a complete waste of time
Here's mine on texturing even tho we moved to allegorithmic and quixel stuff, it's still really good knowledge https://web.archive.org/web/20160114124719/http://oesterkilde.dk/racer445.html
Substance Painter has a free trial from the Allegorithmic website. The steam beta will give access to the v1 so it isn't free (but it is on sale). http://www.allegorithmic.com/products/substance-painter
Picked up Designer, really excited to learn it... but where to start? I'll be digging around the internet for learning material, but has Polycount compiled a place for Allegorithmic tutorials somewhere on the Wiki?
Can someone share a resource that goes over the function and setup of each Filter and Generator that comes with Substance Painter? There's no explanations within the allegorithmic documentation and searching around online doesn't bring up much.
