Very cool! Love the details on that creature especially. Only crit would be that from the side, the smaller legs have actually too much detail crammed in there. Little too high frequency in that area, but overall I really like it!
Thank you for the feedback! ((: I can see now the head is too big, I will fix this when I next continue work on it, thanks! Hah thanks! <: Here's a creature concept for a game I'm designing for a uni project.
Pi Yao (Pi Xiu), Chinese mythical creature This will be use on the scene I've been working on lately as statue. This is not Final, because there are still some topology problems and I have to lower the poly and bake normal map too.
If this turtle-like creature is going to be offense-based, you might want to take a look at alligator snapping turtles as ref. They're too big to hide in their shells and they have powerful jaws. Plus, they look like living fossils. :)
@Veer_P Not a problem. Like @sacboi pointed out, subdivision modeling tends to be an iterative process and there's a few different ways to establish the basic building blocks that define the shapes. The modeling approach used to create the very first shape in the previous example is usually called edge extrusion or point…
Atleast in AAA, a basemesh is very commonly used and a lot of the model is spliced together from exisiting assets. Very rarely did a character artist in studio have to work from scratch and if they were assigned such a task there was considerable time alloted for it. Lot of the work was outsourced, so its more a matter of…
Here is a Creature Sculpt I modeled in ZBrush. This is based on the concept "Love, Dead and Metal" by Julia Mato. I tried to capture the character from the concept, Raphaell. The link to the original concept can be found here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/1nzkkX
Hello polycount, this is my first attempt at creating an environment object for a game. Feedback and critiques are welcome. I want to improve my skills in this area of game art. I've mainly worked on characters and creatures, but I want to expand into other areas of game art. Thank you.
I have to finish this little dude, and I'd appreciate some feedbacks from you guys. There is still detailing and polishing to do. I wanted to make an alienish creature that kinda looks like he is a prince, or at least has a high rank and is respected among his tribe.
