Hey hi all, Made a tree from hi poly to use its alpha in low poly version. All works great however problem arises as soon as I bake the low poly tree (RTT and Flatiron) using mental ray. Alpha and diffuse of leaves below is projected on top leaves creating chaos even though all low poly leaves have unique unwrap (no…
Point well taken Adam. And props have been added. Still not sure how I'm going to render some of those effects yet. I'm trying to play with the volume light but its just not coming out the way I want to. In order for the Crystals to "light the scene" I'm using Mental Ray for rendering. But Mental Ray can only use…
may I suggest that you're using a more glossy material like in your reference? i already can spot quite a few bumpy areas and thats with a very matte material. its hard surface, let the bumps jumpscare you so you can clean em up :)
Ok, so after about a day of messing with the aria here are my thoughts: Good: 1. Very response, even with the 600mhz processor i've yet to find much that slows it down. 2. When I was working on IL-2 and Flight Sim, we would actually lay down markers for lengths along the datums, gear roots,…
Here is a similar system, all from newegg. Its got a worse videocard, but better ram, and less crazy shit that you dont need like a 2TB hd and 850w PSU, side case windows and LED lights. dvd burner: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106327 case:…
Yay, a question I can actually help with. I started off learning how to do game art. I did some freelance work and I had a lot of fun. I picked up programming as a hobby, did some freelance work, and enjoyed it so much that I decided to major in it. It's certainly not for everyone. Even I am getting burned out on it…
Gonna pre-face this rant by saying this just represents my opinion as an individual, as a person, homo sapiens. @NikhilR EDIT: im not gonna comment on the culture war stuff as i agree and disagree with tons of points and thats a whole other thing. Im going to just mention stuff me as a dev and as a consumer think about…
