This thread talks about why some of us do not decimate and a solution for the ones that did decimate, the pxgeek post smoothing option comment. So you'll just have to smooth the exported decimated mesh causing this issue for you and all should be fine, it not post results. The lazy and probably shouldn't be used solution…
I use a minimalist personal website still, one page with all my images on it. I still post all my work to artstation and use it more as a social network. The big thing stopping me from using artstation pro as my portfolio is that it's more than double the cost of my domain name and hosting combined.
I'd say no pooper. I'm not afraid of it, or anything like that, but i don't see it adding anything. Like that pick of the cow I posted in basically the same pose, you really can't see any detail there. Maybe at most a little pink skin/ which would tie into the udders/nose maybe. Butt it's your cow ;)
Some critters I've been drawing over the past few days on the commute train to help get myself back into the habit of dailies. I'm atrociously rusty.:D (As an aside, if you're looking at this anytime near when I post it I'm sorry about all the dead images below... They're hosted on Godaddy.:P)
Haven't grabbed a0.15 yet but from those vids (which were ace, thanks for posting) it's looking like the polishing is really starting to shine. So happy just for copy, paste, drag-select, etc. And commenting - Now I won't get lost in my own shader networks. Solid work, dude. Keep going!
You lost your high poly? Is english not your native language? I'm having trouble understanding you in most of your posts at times. If you had a high poly you should have a working backup somewhere right?.. It'd be better to work from a previous state then trying to recover via normal maps.
super cool project, looking great. personally I like to read about process people went through, problems they faced, etc. But I think majority of people just want to see the finished art. But you can post whatever you like. You probably wont get much engagement until the entire thing is finished. There was a guy who posted…
I would post some pictures of my before/after level design/scenes but I've lost most of those 4 or 5 year old images. I do however have images of my progression with modeling through TF2 items over the year though. January 2010 July 2010 October 2010
I completely agree with the above post. It's very depressing to hear about these cuts as a soon to be graduate. Makes competing for an entry level position that much harder and there is only so much you can learn on your own. But my heart does go out to those who lost their jobs, that's tough and I wish you luck.
Photobucket is also a good image hosting site...and when you are posting the images just right click on the uploaded image and go to properties...highlight the hyperlink till the jpg extension and then just paste it in between [img][/img] and it should work. Press preview if you are not sure. I use photobucket as it loads…
