Let's start in reverse with #3. Atmosphere: this is completely in your control and it's up to you to decide. What atmosphere are you going for? Industrial? Something like Portal where it feels like a lab environment? You need a clear and cogent idea of what atmosphere you're targeting before you can decide on materials and…
The animator's survival kit, great book. They will have to pry it from my cold dead hands... Walks are hard, especially if you are trying to be sublime with your performance. Loosen this guy up- overexaggerate everything first and then trim back if you have too. Translate the body down a tad so you can get more distance…
Looks good to me. I really like the pug statue in the conference room. The beige ball on top of the books on the left front table looks weird to me though. I'm sure it's a faithful recreation of some hipster artifact, but it kind of looks like a 3D primitive object got left in the scene by accident. Other than that,…
I haven't gotten very far with my sculpt but I get motivated when I post my progress here so here goes. His left arm is angled out temporarily to make it easier to work on. Lots of things left to do as you can see. Trying to get a few more angles to catch the light in this sculpt. :)
Overall its nice, though the board theme is really a few steps back. The left sidebar with avatars is non uniform between posts which looks weird. I also prefer the user info on the left under the avatar (use that blank space!) which helps shorten the length of the page. Biggest thing, where's my wide theme?
The nice thing about MagicSugar's unwrap (which is similar to what I'd do - although I'd take the top and left seams right to the exact UV border) is you can then make a texture which tiles on a 90 degree rotation (so the left edge of the texture matches the top edge)... that way you will have no seam at all :D
You can open your 3dsmax.ini (in the base 3dsmax folder) and look for lines like: [MtlEditorPosition] [RenderDialogPosition] The first 2 numbers after those will be the location of the window's top left corner in pixels, X Y. Change those to something like 0 0 and restart Max. The windows should appear in the top left of…
yeah, if i had a head or something i should make mirrorred i would use smart object, nice shot! One thing that Photoshop could have is recognize tiling painting, like when you paint the brush outside it would paint the left side, like it would be continue from top-bottom and left-right
Left 4 Dead 3 would be amazing if they A) Made it like the first game 2) Ditched the team that made the second and D) actually bothered to update the bsp limitations so it doesnt look like Quake 2 :( Don't get me wrong, Left 4 Dead is a stunning game, but damn, the maps in some places are so old school...
I've a 21:9 @2560x1080 and a 4:3 to the left. I rarely use the left side, and mostly for floating panels in maya. I'd say it's mostly comfy, but keeping reference to the side gets my neck sore after a while so I just stick with the main. Maybe if they were larger I'd be better off pushing them back farther from me.
