Hi all. So I decided to start a sketchbook thread. Putting up mostly my work done for my classes. Please feel free to critique! Thanks for watching. This assignment is to make a weapon from Warhammer, I picked the epic weapon. Tri limit is 1k. quick blockout
To make that clear "on the go" means if i have troubles to model something i do a second search for refs. On my Zombie i did around 3h of ref search in the end. But for the blockout to get approval from the Art Dir you dont need detailed refs.
I've put together a concept drawing of my throne room as I am envisioning it so far. I made a little blockout in Sketchup to draw over. I'm still working on the concept as I go, but any feedback on the design thus far would be much appreciated!
looks like a great start, the concepts have so much life! early blockout is looking pretty good, although a bit bare between the island and the canyon walls (but judging from the concept that's going to get filled in with some nice vegetation). is your team using unity for this?
Really nice blockout so far! If you're looking to match the concept exactly I'd say you should make the tail smaller and closer to the body. Also make the legs a little chubbier and the front teeth less "square" (they appear to go to a point in the concept). Keep it up.
I like the blockout, and the concept is really cool! Looks like a fun piece to do. Only I think the tunnel should be longer with the end of it fading into distance fog and overgrowth. That's the part I like about the concept because it provides a good sense of journey. Excited for progress :]
and because of the image limit, a second post: And a new highpoly wip that I have worked on a bit now and then the past 1,5 week, a lot of parts are still in blockout stage. Quickly rendered in marmoset2. concept: http://halofanforlife.com/wp-content/uploads/Rail-Gun-concept-Sparth.jpg
hey I like the tires but it will be hard to bake these. Are you going to do high to low-poly for game? Keep up with the blockout and get the silhouette exactly how you want it. After that you separate into panels / parts and go crazy with details. This is where the fun begins.
thanks so far. little update, finished the hpo, lpo, uvw´s and baking. started texturing work and did some basic blockouts, however progress is slow, due work and me spending time doing more pleasant things in my free time atm :)
I'm giving this month's Community Noob Challenge a bash. Hopefully I can get it done by the end of the month. Until then, most of the updates here are going to be crossposts from the main thread, might still be a few others if I get ambitious. First is my progress on the blockout.
