joan of arc taught me at home lol Well on a serious note, it's mostly trial and error. Blender tutorials for the most part aren't very useful for techniques, except for clearing up the sometimes cryptic interface. There's pros and cons either way. I think it'd makes sense to pick up Maya first as you'll be able to make full assets and generally do a lot more with it. Personally, I think it is only valid to show the WIP if you have the finished product, displayed in a tiered fashion. For example, you would have Gallery Section -> Thumbnails -> Fullview -> WIPs, allowing people to look at the finished products and only look at the WIPs/Workflow of the piece if they want to, and otherwise… -

That's the issue indeed, it's also sluggish on non-complicated materials. I just tried a simple custom material - one spec and one diffuse - and it's taking the same amount of time it would for an uber material. These effect also extends to other mini editors, like kismet, and etc. However, it seems like UDK is 'faster'… -
